Cherry Dr. Pepper BBQ Sauce

2 cups sugar
2 cups cherries
8 cups cherry flavored Dr. Pepper
75 grams tomato paste
75 ml Lindera Farms Cherry Bomb Hot Sauce
75 ml soy sauce
25 ml Lindera Farms Cherry Blossom Vinegar
15 grams salt

1. On stove, reduce 8 cups of cherry Dr. Pepper down to 2 cups.
2. While reducing the Dr. Pepper, combine sugar, slightly mashed cherries, and vinegar in a different pot. 
3. Bring to a boil and allow to simmer briefly, then strain.
4. Remove both pots from burners and allow to cool.
5. Mix the cherry syrup, Dr. Pepper reduction, and all other ingredients until combined.
