Nectarine BBQ

This tangy, savory Nectarine Barbecue Sauce is made with ripe-to-the-point-of-bursting stone fruits near our farm. To make this unique concoction, we brine fresh and roasted nectarines and peaches in our Nectarine and Heirloom Pepper vinegars, along with garlic, onions, chiles, and —our chef’s secret—tomato water. The result is a heady, surprisingly umami sauce with a sweet aroma that pairs perfectly with fatty fish like salmon and trout. Tomatoes surely make a good barbecue sauce base, but these stone fruits make smoked meat sing.
